چکیده

Abstract Aims Patients with suspected cancer are referred to secondary care on the “two week wait” pathway. Investigation and management of these patients is resource intensive puts a significant strain services. We aim determine if there predictable trends in quantity referrals or detection rates (conversion rates) for upper lower gastrointestinal cancers. Identifying such could guide future allocation provision Methods Two wait clinics between 2015 2019 were included. The number conversion analysed monthly, quarterly annual basis. Results Upper GI total referrals: 1094 vs 1357 2019. Lower 1827 vs. 3278 rates: 8.8% 8.36% 6.47% 4.07% There no identifiable referral numbers when monthly Conclusions two cancers has shown sustained year increase. Conversion time period have remained somewhat static some cases decreased. Our data shows evidence any spikes troughs demand related year. Should continue rise at current rate then alternate modes assessment as telephone clinic straight test approach may become more widespread.

Are There Any Differences in Seismic Performance Evaluation Criteria for Concrete Arch Dams?

Differences between stress-based and strain-based criteria are investigated in seismic performance evaluation of the arch dams in time domain. A numerical model of the coupled dam-reservoir-foundation system is prepared with the finite element technique. Reservoir is modeled using the Eulerian approach as a compressible domain, and the foundation rock is assumed to be massless. Dynamic equilibr...

The Two-Week Rule for NHS Gastrointestinal Cancer Referrals: A Systematic Review of Diagnostic Effectiveness

Aim: To systematically review the impact of the Two-Week Rule in increasing the pick-up rate of colorectal cancers and Upper Gastrointestinal (GI) cancers in the NHS. Materials and Methods: Data were combined for meta-analyses to determine (1) the Two-Week Rule pick-up rate for each cancer type and (2) the proportion of patients referred using the Two-Week Rule. Overall results were given as we...
